Donald H. Spresny, 83, of Standish passed away April 26, 2020.
Donald was born on June 19, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan to Herman and Dorothy Spresny. He married Grace Joy Diamond on October 15, 1958. He started and operated Don’s Wrecker Service for 20 years in Bay City before working at Ponder Iron Works as a welder and fabricator. Don showed horses and also served on the Monitor Fire Department for 20 years. His numerous talents included painting, drawing, woodworking, and ironworking. Cannons and a 1924 American LaFrance firetruck are among his many restorations.
Surviving besides his wife of over 60 years is their son David (Simone) Spresny of Standish; grandchildren Donald H. (Brandi) Spresny, III of Alabama, Lisa (Doug) North of Saginaw, and Marissa Spresny of Standish; great-grandchildren Emilee, Landon, Liam, and Charlotte; and daughter-in-law Cori Spresny. He was preceded in death by his parent, his son, Donald T. Spresny and his brother, Richard Spresny.
