Burgeson, Gerald 10/4/1944 – 9/12/2016 Metamora, MI Gerald John Burgeson, 71, of Metamora, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Butterfield Township, Michigan. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Hilda Burgeson. Gerald is survived by his wife Nancy of 34 years. They were married at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan on December 5, 1981. Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy; daughters Erin Ellison (Burgeson) and Shea Burgeson; son-in-law Jake Ellison; granddaughter Rylee Ellison; sister Linda Tober; father-in-law Donald Mollan; and canine companion Nicolaas.
Gerald was born on October 4, 1944 in Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from Handy High School in Bay City. Gerald received his undergraduate degree from Ferris State College in 1967 and his MBA from Central Michigan University in 1971. He worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 36 years before retiring in 2010.
Gerald was a Vietnam War Veteran. His rank was USAR INF 1LT. He earned many awards while enlisted, which included the Air Medal, Bronze Star Medal w/V Device, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device 1960; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Combat Infantryman Badge: 2nd Bronze Star Medal and Vietnam Police Honor Medal. Gerald was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a special person who touched many lives. Gerald was an avid hunter and sportsman with a great passion for the outdoors. Gardening was a favorite hobby during his retirement years.
