Mary Ann (Wright) Northcott Mace, 82, of Traverse City, passed away June 2, 2014, in Traverse City. She was born in Bay City on Feb. 7, 1932, to Walter and Helen (Eichhorn) Wright. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and formerly a member of St. Michael and All Angels Lutheran Church in Traverse City. She was also formerly a member of Zion Lutheran and of Immanuel Lutheran Churches in Bay City. Ann grew up in Bay City and lived there for 60 years, graduating from T.L. Handy High School and Bay City Junior College. She worked as secretary to the hospital administrator at Samaritan Hospital and later in administration at Bay Medical Center.
Ann was formerly married to Eugene Donald Northcott (deceased 2009), of Bay City. In June 1992 Ann married Edwin “Ted” Mace in Bellaire. They lived there until moving to Traverse City in 1998. She is survived by her three sons, Stephen (wife, Rebecca) Northcott, of East Pointe, Peter Northcott (partner, Keith Gurley), of Birmingham, Ala., and Christopher Northcott, of Bay City; four grandchildren, Rachel, Stephanie, Mary and Matthew Northcott; sister, Karen Wright (husband, David) Perry; and several nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, on Oct. 31, 2013; and by her parents.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at Gephart Funeral Home, 201 W. Midland Street, Bay City. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. William Allwardt. Interment at Elm lawn Cemetery will immediately follow.
