Thomas Edward Kriewall, Ph.D, DeWitt, Mi Age 71, died July 27, 2002. Born May 7, 1931 in Bay City, MI, Dr. Kriewall received his BS from the University of Michigan in Engineering Math in 1954, his MS degree from the University of Michigan in Physics in 1957 and his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin in 1969. He taught 8 years at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw from 1957-1965, worked for the Institute for Educational Research in Downers Grove, IL from 1969 -1977 and the National College of Education, Evanston, IL from 1977-1979. He graduated as the president from the Class of 1949 at T.L. Handy High School.
He worked for Rotary International as Director of Research from 1979-1989 and from 1989-1996 was a Project Manager for Unisys Corp., retiring in June of 1996. He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhart Kriewall. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Mae (Sayner) – TL Handy Class of 1950; daughter, Linda L. (Lee) Evans of Woodstock, IL; 3 sons, David T. (Judy) of Issaquah, WA, Keith A. (Merri) of Newcastle, WA, and Thomas E. Kriewall II of Woodinville, WA; 10 grandchildren; mother, Olive Kriewall of Bay City; 2 brothers, Royce L. (Gloria) of Freeland and Dr. Timothy J. (Sally) of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 11 AM at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Avenue, Lans~L with the Rev. Paul J. Lindloff officiating. Graveside. Services will follow at 4 PM in Green Ridge Cemetery, Bay City, MI. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lasing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Wednesday at the church l hour prior to the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the church in memory of Dr. Kriewall.
