Nominations are requested from the public for Alumni for the T.L. Handy High School Hall of Fame for past T.L. Handy High School graduates.
This award has recently been re-established as a tribute to graduates of Handy High School who have achieved distinction in the field of art, business, sports, industry, medicine, or education.
A nominee must be a T. L. Handy graduate and fulfills one or more of the following criteria:
- Demonstrate a valuable contribution in their professional career or field
- Reveal consistent community involvement
- Show how successful personal accomplishments have enhanced society
A nomination should include nominee’s full name, address, field or achievement, graduation year, reason for the nomination, and two additional letters of recommendation.
A photograph and biography of the nominee will be housed in one of the Hall of Fame display cases located in Handy Middle School.
A selection committee, consisting of T. L. Handy alumni and past faculty, will consider and chose the nominee who will be awarded this honor.
Awards will be announced in early fall of 2016.
