With tremendous joy and gratitude for the life of Barbara Jean (Bendall) Klepper, her family sadly announces her passing from a physical presence in this world and the continuing presence of her extraordinary soul, beauty, and inspiration in those she touched, and others yet to be so blessed.
Barbara, 70, of Port Sanilac, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
She was born June 3, 1950 in Bay City to the late Richard C. and H. Jeannette Bendall. Barbara was a graduate of T.L. Handy High School in Bay City and a 1972 graduate of Alma College. While at Alma, she met Gary Richard Klepper, and they were married on April 13, 1974 in the Dunning Memorial Chapel on the Alma College campus.
Barb’s stellar career in public education began in St. Ignace and Rapid River. She landed in Mason Public Schools where she worked as a middle school teacher for 25 years before her retirement. More important than anything else to Barb was her family. She is a much-loved wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother. She loved gardening and was very active in the Port Sanilac Garden Club and the Blue Water Herb Guild.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary; a daughter, Heather Jeannette (Geoff) Rodocker; a son, Bendall (Stefnee McMullin) Klepper; three granddaughters, Lydia Rue Klepper, Mia Josephine Rodocker and Myrrhin Noel Klepper; a sister, Helen Bendall-Hughes; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Klepper; former brother-in-law, Mike Hughes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Red Barn, 235 S. Ridge St., Port Sanilac followed by a memorial service and picnic at 3:00 p.m. on the grounds of Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum, 228 S. Ridge St.
Plenty of space and parking available at both locations which are directly across Ridge St. (M-25) from each other. Seating for the memorial service is limited, so it would be helpful for those who can to bring lawn chairs.
