David Lee Short of DeWitt, Michigan, age 63, passed away June 23, 2010 at Brian’s House, in Bay City, MI, after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born June 20, 1947 in Kawkawlin, MI, to the late Clifford and Betty (Weaver) Short. David was a graduate of T. L. Handy High School, Michigan State University and University of Michigan.
David was President and CEO of Combined Management and Marketing Services and was recognized as the leading expert in Medicare and Medicaid Laws for community mental health services for the State of Michigan.
David is survived by his brother, Larry (Laura); nephew, Marc (Tina) Short; nieces, Jean (Jeff) Kot and Amy (Eric) Hofmeister; grandnephews and grandnieces, Tara Satkowiak, Dan Short, Heather Kot, Brandon Kot, Lauren Kot, Allison Short and Emily Hofmeister.
David was predeceased by his brother, Dan, and a sister Karen. A Celebration of his Life will be held Thursday July 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. from Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Dunn presiding with inurnment in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm. On Thursday friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to extend there sincere gratitude to the staff at Brian’s House for their exceptional care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Brian’s House or Mc Laren Visiting Nurses.
