T.L. Handy Memorial

Duane E. Grove, 82, passed away on February 28, 2020 at his home. He was born in Bay City, Michigan to the late Theodore and Hulda (Hitz) Grove on April 29, 1937. Duane married the former Ruby L. Yacks. He had a love of the outdoors where he loved to hunt, fish, and where he avidly loved to watch birds. Duane graduated from T. L. Handy and worked as a Sheet Metal worker for the Local 7. Duane will be remembered for his love of family, the outdoors, hunting and fishing, teaching and love of birds. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, brother and sisters: Christina Gilbert, Iraline Yahrmarkt, Lucille Gillespie, Judith Irmen, Joyce Lowe, Lawrence Grove, Jerry Grove, Morris Grove, and Ervin Grove, , his step children: Ralph (Karen) Carlson, Rhonda McLure, and Tammy Harding, his grandchildren: Jerry (Mari Jo) Carlson, Casi Harding, Casey (Steve) Ulbright, Terry (Heather) Praay, Rena (Chris) Johnson, Stacie (Dave) Pedley, and Tyler (Samantha) Carlson, his 19 great grandchildren and his 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: Elaine Grove, Barbara Grove, Rita Loree, Floyd Grove, Harold Grove, Clarence Grove, Eugene Grove, and Marvin Grove.
Following Duane’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1 pm. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Friends may call upon the time of the service.
