John “Jack” H Cansfield, age 72 years, passed away May 1, 2007 in his Florida home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 12, 1934, to Arthur and Florence Cansfield in Bay City, he graduated from TL Handy High School in 1952. He attended Albion College before serving his country honorably in Korea in 1954-1956. He received his BA and MA from Michigan State, and his Ed D from Western Michigan University. He was a counselor and administrator at Lansing Community College before his retirement in 1997.
Survived by his wife, Gene Ann and his children, Jenifer (Stephen) McNulty of Bloomfield and Timothy J. Cansfield of Eagle; grandson, Christian; two stepsons and their wives and six step-grandchildren of Atlanta and Nashville; brother-in-law, Kenneth Price of Rochester Hills and many good friends. He was a supporter of the Little Traverse Conservancy and the Charlevoix Historical Society.
A celebration of his life will be held July 21, 2007 at Depot Beach in Charlevoix at 11 a.m.
