Mr. Paul C. Atkinson passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 15, 2001 at his residence. Age 63 years, He was born February 12, 1938 in Bay City, MI. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wenona Lodge #256 F.& A.M., Mt. Clemens Power Squadron, St. Clair Shores Yacht Club and graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1956.
He was retired from CUNA Mutal Insurance Co. He is survived by two children: Laura Lynn (Edward) Acx of Sterling Heights, MI and Keith (Kymberlee) Atkinson of Las Vegas, three grandchildren; Amanda, Robert and Jennifer, his father Lawrence A. “Larry” Atkinson of Bay City, his sister Jean (Jim) Raymond of Fresno, CA, nieces Cheryl Raymond of Seattle. WA and Carla Raymond of San Diego, CA, his cousins Allen and Wendy Meiselbach, Claire and Jim Wynne, Sue Hermanson, Mary Brown, George Atkinson and Gordon Meiselbach. He was predeceased by his wife Christine L. Atkinson and his mother Sarah J. Atkinson. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, December 20, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Officiating will be Rev. William T. Hennessy with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Members of Wenona Lodge #256 F & A.M. will meet at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM for a Lodge of Sorrow. Mr. Atkinson will be taken to the church on Thursday to Lie in state from 10:00 AM and until the time of services. Memorial Envelopes for U.S. Power Squadron Educational Fund or Westminster Presbyterian Church will be available at the funeral home.
