William R “Bird” Roth, 42, of Battle Creek died Saturday, February 23, 2002, in Battle Creek Health System. William was born on February 6, 1960 in Bay City to Howard A. and Irene M. (Herman) Roth. Mr. Roth came to Battle Creek in 1997 from Bay City.
He graduated from T.L. Handy High School in Bay City in 1978. He was employed by Bay Metro Transit in Bay City for 18 years and as an Executive Recruiter of Lou Michael Associates currently.
On August 27, 1994 he married Trisha J. (St. Clair) Roth at Holy Trinity Church in Bay City. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife; sons, Logan William and Kyle Robert Roth, at home; daughter, Haley Rae Lynn Roth, at home; mother, Irene M. Roth of Bay City; brother, Thomas (Lori) Roth of Saginaw; sister, Kathleen (Andrew) Kennell of Raleigh, N.C. ;six nieces and nephews; and special friend, Norma Settle of Bay City.
He was preceded in death by father, Howard A. Roth; and brother, James (Mary) Roth, February 4, 2002. William was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Harper Creek Optimist Club, Cedar Creek Golf Course, served as President of Steelworker’s Union 8422. He was
an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, building and being involved in scouting. He was a former member of Holy Trinity Church in Bay City.
Friends may call after 12:00 noon Saturday and 12 noon Sunday at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Rosary at 7 P.M. Sunday at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Fr. James S. O’Leary officiating.
Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Education Fund.
